Given the perception of pits while being a pit owner, Sssqqquuuiiirrrggg tends to go all-in on discriminatory action TOWARD them. Obviously, then, the landlord was oppressing the dog.

I never understand why people want animals to live in their house anyway. Pets are just weird.

Yea. Sometime I have trouble letting the children come into the house.

That does suck, but it still says he has to give notice, which he might not have.

That wasn't my take-away from the story, just something that occurred to me. I assumed that if she had a dog who might be the type to bite someone coming in the house (mine wouldn't even wake up), then she wouldn't have let that go down like that as a responsible dog owner - and by that I mean she wouldn't have let some person come into her house and get attacked. She would've likely kenneled the dog or brought it to work or taken the morning off or some shit. Unless the dog just snapped and did this for the first time in its life, it should've been avoidable, UNLESS he didn't give her notice he was coming.

...right?

It goes both ways, man. Non-pet people are just as weird to me.

I smell a Wes Anderson adaptation of Fairfax's lifestory

Anyone ever use The Show Sherpa? A little pricey for something I can do myself...but it is kinda appealing to just show up and have it set up, etc.

Interesting, but very limited business model. I'd go for it if I were going to a camping festival with a bunch of friends
My question was "how does the Sherpa get into the fest grounds without a ticket?" - answer is here - http://www.theshowsherpa.com/faq/

Toot's band was great last night.
They hit a groove and they just ride it.
Loud as fuck, too!

yeah, i'd say about that.

can't say enough good things about the people that ran the venue. extremely nice, not snobby. some clubs in indpls could take a lesson.

And on top of it, the sound in the room was excellent. It was damn loud, but there was clarity... you could actually hear each and every instrument. Sound guy knew what he was doing.

agreed. real easy to deal with panchos and that booking company and sound guy (which has been a female "sound guy" every time we've played there)

though i do miss when pancho owned it, he is an incredibly talented bartender and percussionist.
he would play along with your band whether you asked him to or not. he had a variety of small instruments under the bar.
fortunately he was really good at it so it was always cool. he also had some fascinating drink pouring tricks.
i guess he still comes around though.

I kinda assumed the opposite. If the landlord was going in the apartment to fix something, it seems likely that the tenant called and told the landlord something was broken, clogged, not working, etc and requested that he fix it. This doesn't seem to be a random visit that would have occurred without a conversation with the tenant.

Why would the window have to be open? I haven't confirmed this by experiment at home but I would think that a full-grown pitbull thrown at a window might have enough force to break the glass.

As Black Lips said on their recent record - "Dude, trip out on this!"

http://kottke.org/11/11/all-beatles-songs-played-at-the-same-time

As the URL suggests it's every song The Beatles ever recorded played at the same time, though start times are staggered so everything ends at the same point.

Best listened to on headphones, with the lights out, on the stimulant of your choice. By the fourth minute it sounds like planets colliding and will probably destroy your cochlea.

It's cool, maaaan. Image if Charlie Manson had heard this!
