You're actually pretty close to the Buckhead Farm Burger. It's one of those grass-fed, local beef places, and it's not expensive or anything. It's good.

It's a little too far to walk, but there's a great Turkish (Mediterranean food, basically) place in Buckhead called Cafe Agora. It's one of my favorite places in Atlanta.

As far as bars and stuff in the area, I don't know. A lot of the restaurants around there are sort of upscale/expensive, I think. There's a lot of stuff in the area, though, and it won't be too hard for you to find places to go. You're definitely better off than if you'd stayed downtown.

I might be up for meeting for a drink if that's happening.

Yeah, you're right in the heart of Buckhead. High end city. But, there are some great spots in that area. I lived up there for about 4 years.

Damn. I've been to the Intercontinental a few times and didn't even know about the Bourbon bar. I've been there for weddings before and to the regular bar. You're better off going elsewhere. Drinks are overpriced. Super nice place though.

also, it should be known that the bourbon bar area in my hotel serves food, and part of the menu is a "Ham Bar." also you can bar jars of vienna sausage

If money is no object and it's on the company dime, get them to go to Bone's. It's walking distance from your hotel and it's one of the best steakhouses in the city.

Others right near there:

Bluepointe - high end seafood (supposedly a hot high end happy hour spot, also possible cougar town)
Dantanna's - sports and surf n turf (shoud be high energy, bustling)
Hal's on Old Ivy - old Atlanta staple of the idle rich. Feels like something out of Goodfellas. Steak Au Poivre is insane.
Capital Grille - heart of Buckhead. Chain but has some of the best views of the city
