How would we know? Aside from XIX, who pops in about every six months or so, looking to be validated/adored (BlueJayWay, Fickerson, &, to a lesser extent, The Obner do this, as well), & frostingspoon (who, last I recall, & this is a memory from a year or more ago, has a presence on the Obner facebook page), does anyone here keep up with any of these people? How tight has the Rick Derris Orchestra kept with Ol' KY & Pagoda? Do Beachy & Chuck(e)d & Dorkestra Teacher exchange recipes?

Most of them -- though, mostly, BarneyHazelwood -- could be at least as dead as I were two summers ago.

(& had I died, how would anyone have known? There would be speculation, as with Dunwoody, but no confirmation. (I mean, with respect Dunwoody, I suppose one of the ATL Obners could comb thru the AJC death notices looking for Puerto Rican Jews from NYC with African-American widows, but other than that...))

I suppose, then, this thread is an encomium for Dunwoody. Unlike every other Obner, be they the persistent & regular posters -- Bloor, Shiv, FT, et. al., -- or the (dearly) departed -- BlueJayWay, XIX, fickerson, et. al. -- he has stayed away. Totally. I don't know how he fills his work-days, what manner of hobbies he has, if he even still listens to music; cannot say if he has "any more of a life" than the ones still here with the busiest days. But, hell, he's stayed away. & that's more impressive than getting a cheap fare to Istanbul, going to eXXXotica Miami, whooping between the Hedges, slipping child-porn on to your co-workers's hard-drives at the ol' post office... Dunwoody is stronger than all of us put together.

As to Dunwoody, I figured it would be too common an appellation, particularly in the 404, to be that easily unearthed.

Wasn't he actually the brother of another poster? Who was the third brother of Haq and Andy? Maybe it was like O Stihl or somesuch (think his name was Owen)...all these user names from long ago are starting to run together.

I grouped Pagoda & Ol' Kentucky as part of the Derris Orchestra since I think Derris or LooGAR brought each to the board. Maybe Ol' KY only knew GAR, though, & from somewhere other than high-school/college.
