Funny that a 50-something Keith Morris is more prolific than was a 20-something Keith Morris. Then again, it kinda makes sense.

I'll be looking forward to this one.

I liked the first one, so I'll be picking this up. What ever happened to Burning Brides, I liked their first record alot, but never listened to anything by them again.

Redd Kross also has a new album in the works...

This excites me even more!

I suppose I should listen to this. However this may come across, I tend to avoid punk bands that aren't on the DIY circuit.

Yes, I know who they are. Like the rest of America, I read their bio on Pitchfork 17 moths ago, and then again when it was validated by the AV Club.

Think basement shows and zines. A modern equivalent of Book Your Own Fucking Tour.

I guess I'm with Dale on this one. That's fine to be into that, but what if one of those bands becomes a bit more popular that they can play a club? You just don't listen to them, even if you like them?

OMG they are getting the attention they deserve and can now afford to buy deodorant!

You're right, fuck these guys, they suck. Idiot.

I didn't say that about them in the first place if you go back and read it, Idiot. I actually posted in this thread to say I was going to listen to them. But it's pretty classy that you immediately resort to name calling.

Nah, it's more that I've been let down by hyped bands so often that I tend to wait until they fall onto my lap rather than seek them out. That, and Keith Morris is so kooky these days that I have trouble believing he's still capable of doing something good. Maybe I should just shut up now and push the 'play' button above.

Lrr, I can almost guarantee that you'll be pleasantly surprised at how good they are. Check it out and post your comments.

It's taken weeks, but I will respond to this. I've nearly got my review wrapped up for one of the sites I write for, and I'll post when it goes live.

Short answer: good stuff, no obvious faults, though no Black Flag/Circle Jerks (can't expect it to be, either).

It's a really solid record.

The last record had its moments of engagement. This new one doesn't have a single track that really stands out which is fine considering it's only ~15 mins. It's just not something...different.

And scenepointblank.com is the clunkiest site I've been on in a long time. Too much content per page.

And your momma dresses ya funny?

It's no mystery and if you're expecting a bunch of old punks to reinvent the wheel, you're just begging for disappointment. You want old style hardcore that's still being copied by many today? Here it is and a damn site better than what the modern versions are giving you. But yeah, if you're expecting something different than that you should be disappointed. You should also probably not be listening.

I think that you both are right.
There are no real standout single tracks that grab me.
BUT
You don't need to be listening to this if you don't know what you're getting into.
And it's great.
