Pulp is playing a show at the Fox Theatre in Pomona on 4/21, which is one of the better venues I've been to. Also it's 5 miles from my house and I don't have to sleep in the desert, so I'm all set!

You don't happen to have any extra tickets do you?

And it looks like it's April 19, not 21, right?

I don't, but then I'm not sure if it's even sold out. Ticketmaster's told me that it's sold out from the second they were supposed to go on sale and I gt tickets at the box office late that afternoon. Try calling the Glasshouse Records store, which is the BO.

Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Saturday 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Open later on show nights / (909) 865-3802

i saw pulp last night. i don't think they'll get the same set in at coachella, but the warfield and fox shows will probably be similar to what i saw. jarvis' voice is not in the most tip-top shape. he struggled a couple times to hit high notes. however, he's still a tremendous frontman.

I was reading the other day that scalpers are only getting a small markup on tickets this year from face value which I guess is due both to their being two weekends this year and possible rain.

For more reasons than I can list, this year was by far the best year so far (of the 5 years I've been) in my opinion. The weather was PERFECT! Nice and cool and windy, and chilly at night. Zero sweat meant we got up really close for PULP and Radiohead, and went mental for Modeselektor and Refused without sweating much at all.

A few shots...

you're the only person i've seen say they liked that at the drive-in set. (that's not meant as a dig.)

i talked to 2 photographers who were there for them and another friend who was a little ways back. and i read a review that was on the border of saying, "this is why people say bands only get back together because of the money."

The dude who did the writeup for Grantland said it was his favorite show of the weekend but he also admitted to being an avowed fan.

You still in LA dalen? I meant to shoot you a pm but wouldn't have been able to meet up the last few days anyway. I'm guessing you're back in FL now or in route but if not, shoot me a pm.

hi board!

when i saw those shots i had to post. thanks for posting those Dale and hello to you as well.

i thought Mazzy Star was the best thing about that weekend via YOu Tube. The Shins and Andrew Bird had good sets, reminded me of this board and here is this post. Buzzcocks, Pulp, Radiohead, Explosions in the Sky and Destroyer destroyed.

Music for Big Pink (my RIP Levon Helm thread)

The best sets weekend 2 (in order):
The Buzzcocks
James
Pulp
Girl Talk
Jeff Mangum
The Rapture
Jimmy Cliff (particularly enjoyed his Guns of Brixton cover)
Dre and Snoop (this was a huge surprise for me)
Radiohead
The Vaccines

I agree with Dalen that this was one of the best Coachella's of the eight Marco and I have been to. I could have done without the 106 degree heat, however.
I also really enjoyed the ATDI set.
