Yeah it's the best. Been too long since I've listened to it.

So, c'mon I know I'm seeing a few others listening to the new Jack White. Opinions?

re: Jack White--what only half listening while I did other stuff at work. It piqued my interest enough to want to listen to it again, though.

Ty Segall & White Fence - Hair.

First 2012 album I've bought/listened to in a couple of months as most of the new music I've been hearing lately hasn't been doing much for me. Only had one spin and I like what they've tried to do here but sometimes it feels like they are just playing and forgot to write some songs. Still at least the sound of the record in terms of its feel and authenticity seems to ring true. I suppose my next point is related to my flagging interest in modern music but it seems to my ears that a lot of new releases are the spoil or by product of some other process much larger than just making a record and I personally think that's a bad thing.

En: Already Gone

Light, ambient drone. Worth a listen for fans of Tim Hecker, Stars of the Lid, and other barely there music makers. Really nice to drift off to. Nice vinyl package as well that includes the album on vinyl (first 100 clear vinyl), CD and with a digital download.

nobody - you should check out:

(this is much more "minimal" than Splaszh [below])

NP: - minimal in its own way, but bouncier

I'll look around. If you've got a link handy, I'd appreciate it. If not, I'm sure I can find soon enough.

A bunch of Chicago high school kids playing jazz-inflected RnB, with a really good, smooth MC rapping. Great vocals, great playing, great flow.

Listening now. Really good so far, but I think to really appreciate it I will need to listen on the big speakers at home. I feel like there's probably some serious bass missing on the laptop. Kind of reminds me of a more minimal version of that Jaar album from last year. Might have to hunt down the vinyl on this one. Thanks for the suggestion.

Best Coast - Tour CD-R
Collection of home-recorded singles that they sold at shows before they released their debut. A lot fuzzier than the debut and, IMO, it's a little better, too. Better songs. "The Sun Was High (and So Was I)" is something that should have been on the album!

Looking forward to the new one, though.
