Since big brother has gone to so many cool things recently, I think that I am going to try to take my little one (10 yrs. old) to this. He is already a huge Anime/Manga fan, so I think that he will be super excited.
Any other anime/manga fans here? Been to one of these things? What can I expect?

Never been to an anime convention--but I'd imagine you can expect a lot of cosplay and general weirdness.

Oh, and furries...lots of furries I'd think would be there.

Yeah I'd imagine you could expect creepiness.

And a fair amount of sadness.

They're weird places where antisocial nerds have a collision with cosplay outrageousness and more than a smattering of outright sluttery.

I'm an enjoyer of Japanese animation and graphic novels, but I'm not quite sure I could get myself to go to a convention.

Check out the schedule ahead of time and make sure the program includes enough topically interesting items for a 10-year-old kid.
