Speaking of the Bobcats, I might get to see history on Thursday night:

my buddy via email Wrote:
Thursday night, the nation watches...as the Bobcats attempt to avoid become the worst team in history. If the Bobcats lose tomorrow night in Orlando (and let's be honest, they will), the Knicks will be locked into either the 7 or 8 seed. As they have nothing to play for (and may even want to tank to face the Bulls instead of the Heat), I fully expect them to sit Carmelo, Amare, Chandler, and probably Baron Davis and trot out a lineup of Toney Douglass, Iman Shumpert, Steve Novak, Jared Jeffries, and Jerome James. Finally, a fair fight!

If people cheer for their setting the futility record, I hope Silas goes into the crowd and goes RonRon on folks.

Everyone is embarrassed except ol' Adolf. He's too busy planning a blitzkrieg of golf courses and young buttholes.

Barkley called out His Airness about the stache. Sure that made their golf foursome uncomfortable.

Well, here's a little salt in your wound. The Hawks went 13-69 in 04-05, in a full 82 game season. They were a full 5 games worse than the nearest team to them and STILL didn't get the 1st pick. Not only that but they passed on Deron Williams and Chris Paul for ol MAH-vin Williams who defines MEH with his 11 pts, 5 rebs career average with the 2nd pick.

He'd be remembered for this monumental failure if it wasn't for our Gold Standard of Hawks ineptitude..........Mr. SHELGENG "Vacant Lot" Williams who we took with the 5th overall pick and left Atlanta after 2 seasons with a 4 pts, 4 rebs avg.

*fart noise*

I was listening to Bill Simmons make a great case for Paul as the runner up MVP since he got to see him all year playing for the Clips...I gotta say, it scratched at some old wounds. Fucking Horks.

But, by all means, beat the damn Celtics!

Hawks tried to give it away in the end last night. Celts were pretty terrible (0-11 from 3??) and KG was a non-factor and it was still a 4 point game when Rondo lost it.

By rule, he should be suspended for Game 2 but we'll see what Stern does.

Josh Smith was lights out and for Hawks fans, that's cause for concern. He will try to repeat that performance on Tuesday and most likely have a dud of a game. It's been his M.O. most of his career.

We'll see. This series has 7 games written all over it IMO.

The Bulls may have won Game 1 and they may win this series (even sweep it), but I don't see them getting past the 2nd round w/o Rose.

which is why, although i hold no ill will toward either rose or the bulls, i am trying to look at this as a glass half-full (READ: overflowing) situation, since it should provide the spurs with unfettered home court all the way through the finals

Krauth and I hatched an idea to have you live tweet/live blog this series. It has comedy GOGLG written all over it.

I missed this the first time, but it certainly deserves a slow clap. Well played, old sport.

Nobody has been harder on Smoove than me but I think the completeness of the game he was playing last night reduces the risk of a 2-20 shooting night in Game 2. Dude was everywhere out there, not just hoisting up junk.

If the Celtics win Game 2 without Rondo, the series probably never makes it back to ATL.

The sad reality for the Knicks: Amare Stoudemire administered far more damage to his hand — and an AmericanAirlines fire extinguisher — than his Knicks have done to the Heat so far in this playoff series.

As if falling down 0-2 against the Heat wasn’t discouraging enough, Stoudemire made matters worse after the game when he sustained a cut left hand when he took out his frustrations on a glass enclosure around a fire extinguisher in the hallway outside the visitors’ locker room.
