Look, as far as we know, our asymmetrically coiffed party pal has never held a guitar in his life.

Stopped reading right there.

Considering Skrill was in From First to Last -- granted, as singer -- & before that did an arts/music intensive program in high school, it's probable he can play the guitar. At least, a little. What.

I want to start a band that's just keytar, chapman stick, and electronic drum pads.

Everyone in the band has to have a ponytail and a goatee.

There's this dude I knew in highschool who has re-surfaced in the last few years as a chapman stick wielding charicature of exactly the sort you imagine. I think I posted some youtube screenshots a year or two back... it was spectacular stuff. Everything is VERY serious.

I think I remember that.

I definitely remember at least one thread devoted to chapman sticks.

This guy. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the chapman stick won't actually function unless you wear that knit cap. Has a special chip in it.

Apparently I'm in the minority here, but I actually really liked this list.

But then again, I'm a SY fan so that's all I give a shit about.

Indie Rock's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All-Time: The Irony!

I support their inclusion of Greg Sage and their exclusion of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, but Slash has gotta be on the list somewhere. No one else has managed to make such ass-ripping solos so simultaneously melodic. Also, Run-DMC in the top 10? Come on.

What's funny/sad to me about that is he is STILL aping Andy's bass sound and style 20 fucking years later. Sheesh. Move on.

Yeah, we can all pic nits on this and whatever other list. There is really no list of 100 guitar players some of us wouldn't take issue with. Just the nature of the beast. But overall I think it is quite nice to see a list that shines a light on some great players generally overlooked in the more typical lists. This list certainly has more players on it that I like than most.

There's so much about it that's funny / sad to me, not least of which is the Andy / Floyd worship. There's some serious Peter Pan shit going on here.

This. And I like how they explain their entries, even when I think they're wrong...

I think it takes a certain person to even want to pursue the chapman stick. I knew a guy who wanted to get one, and actually may have succeeded in acquiring one--but yeah, I think the guy in the vid and the guy I knew would be 2 peas in a pod.
