For some reason its often the case that goalkeepers who are good at saving penalties are completely crap at all other aspects of being a good goalkeeper.

Motherwell seem intent on making me shite my pants every week until the end of the season over the Champions League place.

I can't believe that there has been no mention of Chelsea's upset win over Barcelona in the Champions League Semifinals. It was pretty epic for them to earn a draw at Camp Nou with ten men. I can only hope that Bayern Munchen pulls a similar upset on Real Madrid tomorrow, so Jose Mourinho doesn't win a third Champions League title with a different squad.
p.s. I wouldn't mind seeing John Terry getting a significant suspension next year.

I was also happy to see the soon to be former owner of Rangers FC banned for life from the SFA.

Munchen upsetting Real Madrid on PK's was pretty sweet. I got a little nervous after the save on Lahm, but then Sergio Ramos booted the ball about 30yds over the crossbar. I'll probably pull for Chelsea in the final, but I don't really want to see them automatically qualify for Champions League play next year when they haven't even qualified for Europa League play yet in the EPL.

Pretty entertaining games, I watched both of them after the fact, but was able to avoid the scores. That Ramires goal was a thing of beauty.

Pulling for Bayern in the final I guess...despite Ribery, that dickhole.

Don't really think Bayern beating Real Madrid was an upset. Bayern are clearly one of the top three teams in the world right now, with Real and Barcelona being the other two.

Hopefully Bayern thrash Chelsea in the Final. Chelsea have quite a few top players missing through suspension so I wonder if they will play ultra defensive like they did at Stamford Bridge vs Barcelona.

On a personal note, big, big game for Motherwell on Saturday. Seem intent on blowing a once in a lifetime chance to play in the Champions League next season...

I had all sorts of mixed feelings about both these games. I wanted Barcelona to lose, but seeing Chelsea kept out of Champions League next year would have been an interesting turn of events. In the end, I am glad to see Chelsea win just to see Barcelona get knocked out. Tired of them winning and not pleased about them eliminating Arsenal so often which is my real motivation to see them out.

The other game was mixed for me too. Kind of wanted Real to advance for a bit more salt in the Barcelona wound. Also, I think it would have helped people remember that as good as Messi is, Christiano Ronaldo is awfully close at his heels. But in the end I have long had at least some affection for Bayern just because I remember enjoying watching them back in the late 70s/early 80s when the only soccer you could see in the US was the old Soccer Made in Germany show on PBS with Toby Charles. Thus Bayern success always brings a smile to my face and reminds me of old times.

Thus, I will be rooting for the Germans in the final at home.

Hardly Rangers biggest problem right now with liquidation looming. We need them to beat Dundee Utd on Wednesday though.

Secondly, as a Scot I'm disgusted at the appointment of Roy Hodgeson as England manager mainly because I think he'll do a good job.

Go Shitty City! You are two wins away from the EPL Title and really sticking it to your rivals. I'd really like Man U. to go without a trophy this year.

I caught some highlights of the Chris Humphrey show at the weekend, looks exciting. The camera struggled to keep up with him.

Saturday was probably his best performance for us and he's actually had a decent wee spell over the last month or so but I'm not his biggest fan.

He's lightning fast in terms of pace, probably the fastest player in the league, but he doesn't have much footballing ability. Doesn't score, can't cross, poor feet, can't beat a man from a standing start etc. His game is all running fast down the line and that's about it.

He should really be in the Olympic relay team.

He must be related to Theo Walcott.

Professional clubs signing 11 year old players in cash deals is ridiculous, shouldn't be allowed.

Parents need to take a long hard look at themselves as well.

Oh, and we'll never hear of this kid again.

One of my mates signed to Chelsea as a kid and was captain of the reserve team, now he's 28 and working in an insurance office! Read it and weep young 'un.

One of the great things about supporting a crap team is you don't have to queue to get in for long, its easy to get tickets and you can pick your seat. When these ties come round you can guarantee 10,000 new supporters will pop up out of nowhere and I have to take a day off work to stand in a line for 8 hours on Fir Park Street.

I barely paid attention to the EPL this year, so it's just by chance that I tuned into the Man City v QPR match this morning. Holy shit. Just insane.

Liam Gallagher popping champagne.

Really looking forward to the Euros now.

Stephen Craigan. 1995 - 2012. 378 appearances, 5 goals and 11 OGs (a Scottish and possibly world record).

I love this man. I swear to god I had tears in my eyes when he made his final lap round the pitch. I'm struggling to comprehend a world without Crags in the claret and amber of Lanarkshire's finest! A stalwart, a titan, a colossus. Will we ever see his likes again?

Apparently there was some other stuff going on in the world of football but not a fuck was given at Fir Park.

Back to the goalie discussion earlier... I was quite please to see that in Arsenal's final game to clinch 3rd they player against a keeper who apparently had ingested a few tabs of acid before playing.

Yeah, that attempted punch was embarrassing. So awesome that it happened though. Even though I don't see Chelsea winning the CL...the 3 spot was crucial.

Wow, that was an embarrassment for the Scots tonight. I was glad to see the US score five goals against a European foe and that Landon Donovan is back with the National team, but I thought it was going to be another 1-1 draw with solid defense displayed by both teams.
