i listened to the single a few weeks ago and was a little underwhelmed, but i've also always liked his quieter stuff best.

i'll give this a bunch of listens in the next few weeks before i see him again. even if i'm not wild about these songs, i trust they'll be great live.

Where are you seeing him?

My excitement came from basically stumbling upon the fact that one of my favorite singers, who has already mastered a certain tone that strongly resonates with me, is going spacey and loud. I'll spend a lot more time with it, I'm sure.

i gave this a listen yesterday and liked it quite a bit. it's got a little more heft than the last few albums.
