3 months out from the wedding, many contracts signed, and now we're looking for a new(ish) car.

Yeah, it definitely varies from child to child. Luckily, neither of mine were much trouble at all. I've seen some of my friends kids at that age, though, and you totally understand why there are bottles of Dimetapp all over the house.

My kid is hell on wheels right now but she fights with my wife moreso than me. The people we hang out with around here (our suburbanite friends i guess) all have kids of different ages and its neat to see how they all interact and change as they get older. Good bunch of kids though. (parents are pretty ok too)

oof. Sorry to you guys, that's got to be a hassle. At least you aren't doing some shit like buying a house a month before your wedding like I did. It added just a lil' bit of stress.

We bought a house about 4 months before the wedding, and I was out of a job effective the month before, with no severance and little to no savings since we were footing the bill for the whole shebang.

But, if you think on the bright side, Ben, now's your chance to really make a statement with your life:

I'm not really a car guy, but I've ALWAYS wanted a Datsun 280ZX. I guess that's pretty telling.

Yeah, I think the 280z or the SS with T-tops are neck and neck for life ruining.

Fuck I wish we had the type of dumb money that I could buy you one of these as a wedding "gift"

Like, the morning after, you go down to leave and the valet just pulls up in one of these all decked out with whitewash and toilet paper/beer can streamers.

I fucking LOVE those things - I just passed a spotless, perfect 240z like a week ago and remembered all over again how much I lived those cars - the original 240 and then the 280Z especially.

Bonus points if the camaro is an IROC.

Funny, my stepdad used to pick me up from daycare in a VW Scirocco almost exactly like this one

Image

and stop by the drive-through liquore store for a Bud tallboy in a brown bag for the drive home. After they got divorced a few years later he upgraded to an IROC, crashed it, then upgraded again to a vette, and wrapped that one around a tree. Was hospitalized for a good while after. Dude had some serious problems.

my dad did "upgrade" to a late 70s vette around the time he got DAT CANCER, never did crash it. i think he got about 4 or 5 DUI's though...back when they just gave you a fine and sent you on your way. kept his box of wine behind the seat in his Chevy Silverado so he could reach his big plastic cup back and fill it with his left hand and keep on driving with his right.

So I asked a nurse to marry me, and she said yes.

Thanks to Elvis Fu, Cap'n, et al. who have posted likes and such on Facebook already, but I thought Derris should know too.
