Two in the stink?

Hawks played like men right up until overtime...then they played like the Hawks.

NBA marketing must be thrilled at the prospect of the sub mediocre non name Sixers eliminating the Bulls.

Sweep complete. Congrats, FT. Jazz wings Hayward, Burks, Millsap (playing out of position at the 3) and Howard combine on a 4-34 shooting performance. Well done, boys. On the bright side, the mere mention of the name "Favors" will induce spontaneous pant-wetting out of Tiago Splitter for the next few months. Those were some positively grizzly blocks. We've got some good young pieces, need to add someone who can hit an outside shot.

Side note - do you think Matt Bonner hates his nickname? Every time I hear someone call him "The Red Rocket", I just picture my wife's old dog humping a blanket back and forth across the back yard with his on display. Gross. Anyway, make the world a better place, punch Matt Bonner in the face. Good luck going forward.

Holy shit, your boys gave me a MAJOR scare at the end there last night!!!

Favors is a BEAST! And Carroll was applying some insane backcourt pressure.

Yeah, Bonner's nickname sucks, as does his game (except when he's making 3-pointers). He's one of the most one-dimensional players ever to suit up in the NBA. As for hitting the outside shot, Hayward just went cold this series, but he's a great young player and should be your Hornacek for the next decade. The Jazz are a team whose arrow is clearly pointing up moving forward.

Great article by Steve Kerr about raising the age requirement to 20 to play in the NBA:

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/788 ... -limit-nba

I'm infinitely in favor of this and would drastically raise my interest in the NBA AND College ball.

Of course after the success of Brandon Jennings, it may all be a moot point anyway.

Still, I agree with just about everything he says in that article. I've been saying it for years. It's a total Win-Win for the NBA.

"...adopting baseball's stance, which allows high schoolers to enter the draft right away OR commit to three years of college before becoming draft-eligible again."

i wouldn't mind seeing this variation - only the transcendent kobe/garnett/lebron types would end up with any type of significant hs-to-nba career, while the others would at least be required to stay put with their college teams for more than just a year or two

the early entrants hurt college basketball a lot more than they hurt the nba in my opinion. college basketball really lacks any star power these days as they are all playing for shitty nba teams.

He addresses that though. How is it good for the NBA to watch major stars come in at 19, adjust to life as NBA player, develop, and then leave to play for the Lakers, Knicks, Bulls, or Heat? Check those stats he posted with Bird, Magic, Garnett, Kobe. It just leads to more disgruntled fan bases. Granted, even if teams had more time to scout a player in college, they still have historically missed but I still think it lets teams make more intelligent draft picks.

College basketball would keep great players for longer, and the NBA would get more NBA ready players.

With Rose out, there are as many "name" guys on the Sixers as on the Bulls.

As for the labor issue, I'm in favor 20 year old minimum as well. If you can't endure or bullshit your way through 2 years of college, then by all means go ply your trade in Europe.

I don't have a strong opinion here. I guess I'd say I'm mildly against an age limit increase but I definitely agree with Rogneeb's point. Strike me as unimpressed with Kerr's use of the rookie years of 3 of the top 5 players of all time as the standard to compare how High Schoolers adjust to playing in the NBA.

Without question. I can easily see a 30 point soul crushing defeat.

I just loved Horford's swagger. It's what Atlantans want Joe Johnson to have in his DNA but doesn't. #leaderfail
