Unfortunate, but I'm not surprised either. Here's a map of where it passed/didn't pass. Basically, it passed everywhere except Asheville, Charlotte, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh. Too bad.

I had the cassette. Prolly still do in my parent's house somewhere. It was a Friday night hellraisin' kickstarter for sure.

I'm pretty sure I read Rads knows of it and maybe a couple others.

I grew up in Chapel Hill and went to high school in Asheville, so that might be why I had some hope this wouldn't pass.

there's a good number of Gaybos in Wilmington too, but I'm not surprised. Is there a state in the south that HASN'T dug its heels into the sand against the tide?

I was really hoping for them to just make all marriages illegal to equal things out, but I guess this is second best.

WAY TO GO DUDE!!! Great news. When did you do it? How? Details.

Enjoy it man. Those first couple of weeks after I finally pulled the trigger were pretty blissful due to A) having finally done it and B) the endless possibilities of a wedding and what your future life will hold.

A good day man.

Bought the ring last week, but they didn't have it sized until today. Picked it up before getting her kids from school. Bribed both them with a small bag of chips and a drink on the way home, sat them down in the park, told them what was up, and offered them a chance to be involved. Older son (10) came in first, saying that daughter (7) had a letter from school that Mom needed to sign. Daughter proceeded to pull the ring box out of her school bag and open it. From there, I was at on knee on the foot of the bed and asked. Yes, it's cheesy and arguably trite, but it involved the two most important people in her life, and (most importantly) she never saw it coming.

Bliss is a good word, Benj. I'm not ecstatic or overly excited, probably the calmest I've felt in a while actually. Just a sense that it's right.

Nice work Sketch. She's got a good dude, and she can take care of you when you're sick.

Tempted, but I suspect a veto. Perhaps we'll have our rehearsal dinner at the Harvester...

Wore a kilt at my wedding. It was a source of much curiosity.

I looked EVERYWHERE for the clip of Groundskeeper Willie's kilt getting blown up to expose his lack of undergarments, but all I could find was this...

Let's put it this way, there is a photograph of me doing a kegstand after most of the guests (read:relatives) had left. Draftiest one I ever did. And yes, its in our physical wedding album.

Can't believe none of the politically minded Obs commented on Dick Lugar's loss. ]

After a lengthy hiatus I am once again working in the financial sector. This alone would be enough to send me apoplectic with rage but I'm also having to work most nights to 11pm as well as weekends.

So just to let you know if I come on here about midnight GMT and abuse anyone in virulent and mephitic language then there is only a 25% chance I really mean it.

I've only been there 4 days, I don't even have e-mail yet with which to launch tirades against management and ferment revolution, but I've already taken severe umbrage against my supervisor whom I mentally refer to as 'that uncouth pig-faced cowbag'.

Tragic that my finite life time is spent at the behest of this soulless monster, a monster which pays in stale crusts, when I ought to be enjoying the somniferous air of Arcady!
