I think they'll wait until Game 7 so they can screw it up at home aka The Atlanta Way.

Ah, it's sort of a relief: Now I can just enjoy the playoffs without all the agida.

Fuck that. If the refs had called it right, Hawks would've had 1 free throw AND the ball on that inbounds foul. Hawks still probably would've lost but still, the officiating was suspect as hell. Hawks had 10 FT attemps to the Celtics 24. Ridiculous.

Goddamn Hawks. This is why I just want Josh Smith to go the fuck away. Final stretch run:

1) Technical foul for bitching at the ref while NOT EVEN ON THE COURT
2) Sick crossover to the basket for a dunk to take the lead with 3 to go
3) 22 footer with 10 seconds left with man in his face (aka the worst shot in his arsenal) with game on the line. Brick.

Fuck him and the Hawks for making me believe. Also, fuck Bill Simmons and KG.

The last bit of salt in the wound: Horford's missed FT was the only one the Hawks missed all night

Blow it up.

FT, if Denver (minus probable MOLO Birdman Andersen) takes down the Lake Show, is it almost a certainty that San Antonio plays Miami for the Larry O'Brien Trophy? Yes, it is. I still don't trust Westbrook with money on the line; Oklahoma City isn't going anywhere.

(& Marco will drink to that.)

&, of course, the advantage to Miami facing San Antonio is that Lebron's talcum spray pregame ritual will soften the impact of Popovich's pocky face for the home audience with high-def tee-vees.

OKC is CLEARLY the most talented team in the Western Conference, but for whatever reason, the Spurs really seem to match up well with them - whereas they (SA) do not match up well with the Lakers.

It's possible the Thunder could beat the Spurs, but the only team I truly fear in the West is LA (Lakers, not Lob City).

So, GO NUGGETS!

Between the strike & delayed start to the season, the NBA overturning the Odom & Gasol for Chris Paul trade, the slap in the face to Laker fans of Paul going to the other L.A. team for a package that wasn't clearly superior, Odom's hissy fit which necessitated trading him, and all of Bynum's antics, I just haven't been able to muster any enthusiasm for the Lakers this year. The playoffs snuck up on me and I think I've only watched one complete game.

Now that Artest is back, I think Mike Brown/Kobe should give him the assignment of beating the living crap out of Bynum anytime he's not the first person to show up for huddles. That I'd watch. And don't worry FT, even assuming anyone from the Lakers other than Kobe shows up in game 7 or Kobe finds away to win the game on his own there's little chance that this Lakers squad is getting past OKC barring a serious injury to Durant.

Dude that works for me who is a huge Lakers fan and I have been having this convo lately: What the fuck is wrong with Pau? He went from the best guy on the floor two years ago in the Finals to...

A couple games ago Gasol dominated, looked as good as he ever has. Lakers are just very inconsistent... And not having World Peace just further destabilizes them. Kobe is tired and chronically hurt. Bynum is occasionally the best center in basketball and then disappears (I swear he grows and shrinks about a foot... Sometimes he is just a giant out there).

Nothing could surprise me. They could blow out Denver by 30 points and march undefeated to the championship or lose tonight by 30 with Kobe shooting 3 for 21 and Bynum fouling out in the third quarter. For a fan since the days of Elgin Baylor it's frustrating, but at least the uncertainty keeps things entertaining.

i feel like Denver has lightning in a bottle- should win tonight, like when the lakers got blown the funk out in that deciding game against Boston a few years ago

FWIW I've been really impressed with Bynum this year when he's "on"; never thought i'd say that.

Thunder will win every title once Harden joins the starting lineup. (confirmed)

Did the Spurs suddenly get eliminated? They're killing folks right now.

popazit figured out early in the game that it would make more sense to have danny green guard CP3, instead of parker, and that proved to be a brilliant tactical move
