It was nothing everyone doesn't know already anyway. Also, it would mean more if one of these guys would actually speak up when in a position to do something about it instead of just grumbling when they retire or lose an election. Gee, another guy who is now out of office talking about how fucked the government is? Wow, who'd a thunk it?

The only reason I care is because of my nomenclature debt to ol Dickie boy.

On the more political front, seeing him tossed out was another interesting twist in the Republican party. I think they are still a force and think the election will be much closer than many on the left care to admit, but if they keep going down the tea party crazy/angry white guy path, they will eventually end up irrelevant shorty as the demographics of this country keep evolving.

Pho Shizz!

(Though, I know the pronunciation of the soup is not homophonic with the American slang Fo' (either as 'for' (hip-hop) or 'four' (Moses Malone).)

My girlfriend is Korean and most my extended family are still unable to say her name properly. Her name is Yeongju, and I took her grandparents house for Christmas, and after one day of people stumbling over that she just went as her last name, Kim for the rest of the week.

ooops, to my grandparents house... and yes that is exactly the mistake that I would have made if I was a Korean. Living in Korea made my English worse, but now that I've been living in Australia for a while It's gotten almost back to normal.

Number one, I'm not even on facebook.

Two -- do you know how common a name Kim is? From what I recall from my time in Spain, when two of the other foreign students in my home-stay were Korean, & each named Kim, something like 50% of the ROK/DPRK has the surname Kim. So, unless Yeongju is the Korean equivalent of Darshalontaya (which would be an amazing name to give my theoretical first-born), I don't think I could too easily find Leon's girl on the facebook.

So there's this hand "doctor" from Houston who ran all these ads on local tv about his hand surgery centers and featured his beautiful family--until he got picked up wasted and (i think) coked up and trying to club his younger wife with a table leg. Shockingly, they are getting a divorce. From proceedings this week, via Texas Monthly Daily Post:

Marshall Davis Brown [wife's lawyer] fired back in a response filed with the court, rebutting each accusation. He wrote that he “has never referred to any of Dr. Brown’s female attorneys as ‘flat chested’ or ‘c—-’ to their face, if indeed such words were conveyed to them it was done so by recitations via their male co-counsel.”

On the claim that he referred to one of Dr. Brown’s lawyers as an escort, Marshall Davis Brown had this to say:

[I] asked Philip Hilder when he appeared at the hotel in Miami with an immodestly dressed woman to whom [I] had not been introduced, if such immodestly attired woman was an employee of an escort service and, if so, was not 10:30 a.m. on a Friday morning a bit early for him to be in such company. It was only then that Hilder revealed the identity of the woman as that of Mary Olga Lovett, an attorney at the Greenberg Traurig firm.
