When you put it that way...I completely agree with you. Lowery's right but it's probably way too late. RIAA should have been organizing a PR campaign with thoughtful, intelligent artists like Lowery making this sort of case 10 years ago instead of or at the very least in addition to suing their customers.
It may be a subtle difference but the way you put it I agree with but when some idiot with a blog doesn't acknowledge that Lowery's right and compares the suggestion that Labels and artists should still have a say in the pricing of their product (eg its worth something and shouldn't be stolen) with attempting to bring back smith corona type writers, I get the urge to punch them in the face or break into their house and steal all their furniture.
