Nick Gillespie is such an annoying fuck. I think his only "stance" is contrarian.

The last of the giant Galapagos Island tortoises, Lonesome George, is dead.

Congratulations.

Unemployment can be soul crushing and debilitating, much like employment.

Puts the lie to the PopToddian effort to put the lie to the expression "millions now living will never die".

Shamed you? I love tortoises. The only pet that also doubles as an heirloom.

I ran over a cat today on the street I live on. It just darted out in front of my car and I really didn't have time to stop. I saw it in my rear view mirror trying to get to the side of the street. I parked and went back and a few people were around and we tried to call the number on the tag but it was a wrong number. It didn't really last long after that so we called animal control and they said they'd sent someone to pick it up. Everyone else that was around left so I was just going to stay with it til animal control got there but then some lady was walking by and said she knew whose cat it was so we went to their door and told them about it. I apologized probably 5 or 6 times but the girl told me it was alright and thanked me for stopping and telling her. I feel fucking awful. Gave my cats a couple of extra hugs when I got home.

I am not a "cat guy", but that is a terrible thing to have happen. Sorry for you, shiv.

Just listened to the WTF interview with Jack White and watched this. My respect for this dude only continues to grow.

Maybe I'll find my respect for him again. After watching It Might Get Loud, I lost a lot of it. He came off as kind of a pretentious wannabe prick. Maybe he was just intimidated.
(Although there is a scene toward the end, where Jimmy Page starts playing the riff to "Whole Lotta Love", and JW's face lights up like a kid on Christmas which IS pretty endearing.)
