Well, I get out of school at 7:30 and if Liquid Soul don't go on until 11:00, I'm gonna have to find something to do in between cause if I go home, I'm not coming back into the city. Any ideas? You guys wanna do dinner or something? And who's coming to the show?

I'm down with dinner. Stu's gonna call me later this afternoon to work out plans. Any suggestions? Is there anything around Tribeca?

My school is two blocks away from the club so staying in Tribeca would be ideal. There's a bar called The Patriot around there. I wonder if it's also a restaurant. I'll call them and find out.

EDIT: I just called The Patriot Saloon and they have finger foods with tables where we can sit. It seems like a nice place. I pass by everyday on my way home.

Fingerfoods != dinner, though. Some people might want actual meals.

i know i'm the heretofore non-existent member of the cmj contingent, and unfortunately, that's not going to change tonight.
one day, one day.
right now, too swamped with school + no money = dead in the water.
you know, like jaws, after roy scheider got the damned thing to chomp down on the power line while the kids took shelter on the man-made power substation/island, and the crippled catamarans drifted out to sea.
and so on and so forth.

If you read the article I posted, people mentioned that they had burgers there.

EDIT: Actually I forgot that we have non-meat eaters. See if you can find a nice place in the area that serves more of a variety...

How about one of these http://newyork.citysearch.com/roundup/39146/

Maybe a better idea would just be to meet at 8 for drinks and let everyone worry about dinner themselves.

11:00?
You people are killing me.
Don't you know that I can't sleep properly in that house?
Of course you don't.
And little do you care. Bastards.
Everyone had better be intensely entertaining for oh, say, 2 1/2 hours.

I should be able to make it tonight. I assume you mean meeting at Tribeca rock club for drinks at 8?

I don't know if they'll be open at 8. I was actually thinking we should go elsewhere in the area.

The Tribeca doors don't open until 9:00 and I don't want to repeat another Possion d'Avril at Rothko.

I say we go to The Patriot. It's a dive bar ala The Village Idiot and Coyote Ugly so if I don't mind seeing some titties, neither should you.

8:00 at The Patriot?

Address is 110 Chambers Street. Take the 1, 2, 3, 9, A, C to Chambers Street.

"Despite the accoutrements, the vibe at this cavernous tavern is more post-frat than patriotic. The Draw - Friday and Saturday nights reign in a rowdy crowd"

I'm suspicious, but if it sucks, it looks like there are lots of other places in the neighborhood.

I'm sure the crowds don't even start getting rowdy until 11 or so.

A fine time was had by all.

Phil's drummer was a fucking champ. Heard a lot of pros in the last few years and this guy stands up to all of them.

The front guy was veerry personable. Think Vernon Reid. And his pro temp flow was smooth as hell.

Phil has huge hands. That Lakeland was just swallowed up.

Discostu, hope you had a good time.

Dreaded Marco, lunch on Sunday?

Haq, stop grabbing my ass.

I'll second everything the Lemur had to say---except the bit about Haq grabbing my ass. Excellent show from Liquid Soul. I had a great time meeting/seeing the CMJ/Obner crew again. And yes, Lemur, lunch on Sunday sounds good. I think OPA was up for something as well--give me a call.

Phil is in Liquid Soul? I've known Tom Klein, the guitarist, for years. Glad you all had fun.

It was an amazing show. Phil, it was a honor to finally meet you and as I expected, you are good people.

HaqDiesel, Katie, Lemur, Discostu, Dreaded Marco, you're all morons.

P.S. Why do I remember kissing Katie's hand that night?
