Dumpjack has a theory about 4th Beer songs. You know the feeling you get when you go from the 3rd (i.e. you could stop here and still read and remember a few pages in a book) to the 4th - let's kick out the fucking jams.

All summer songs are 4th beer songs.

This sounds good on the surface but I'd say that while all 4th beer songs are summer songs, but all summer songs are not 4th beer songs.

Rocksteady, Old School Ska, Lover's Rock, and Roots Reggae scream summer to me but they most definitely are not 4th beer songs. I never listen to reggae once it cools down but love it in the summer. I listen to a whole lot more world music in the summer especially stuff that's bouncy or has a good slow groove to it.

Good call by Stu on Peaches.

Seeing as the mix forum is a complete mess, I'll throw my new summer mix up here. Bunch of old stuff as well as some brand new shee. Should be perfect for the mellow portion of the afternoon or evening - probably before Dumpjack's 4th beer. And trivia note: Miles Nielsen is the son of Rick Nielsen. Trivia note #2: Imani Coppola aka Little Jackie
