Very refreshing, traditional metal album in these days of the millions of sub-genres. First listen was great.

That is bizarre- I was just going to search the site to see if you had this (just picked it up for .50 cents), and lo & behold!

A few outstanding tracks, one or two really annoying tracks, and one horn-laced R&B belter called "Outsider" that I wish had been the rule rather than the exception.

How you feeling about that new Vaccines, Rads? Haven't given it a "proper" listen yet, but the skim sounded better than the first one.

I wasn't a big fan of the first, so I didn't give it much of a chance. My criteria for keeping/buying music these days is whether or not I can imagine listening to it again after the first blush of novelty wears off. So for me the Vaccines are the Constantines or Hot Hot Heat or Long Winters (etc) of the now. Not turrible, but kinda pointless.

Bought a mystery box of records off Craigslist site unseen for cheap. Was described as some R&B stuff. I can't say it was a treasure trove, but did end up with some really good stuff mixed in there. Some Parliament records, some Slave, Lee Oskar, a couple Isaac Hayes, O'Jays, Smokey Robinson, the Brothers Johnson, Earth Wind & Fire, Temptations, Average White Band. There's also several 12" singles, most of which are too obscure for me to know much about. Started with a pile of about 60-70, and have maybe 15-20 designated for the dumpster, the rest at least somewhat interesting. The vinyl so far is all in great shape, but the covers are kinda rough, bad enough they would be tough to sell for much, but since I bought them for listening good enough. Spinning Parliment right now.

OH...and thanks for the reminder on the Jimmy Cliff. I gotta at least give it a listen, even if I am not super optimistic.

Great adventure that's not available here. Drink 14 year-olds!
