That Roches album is definitely Listmania! material, as is the Jim Ford comp. Some really good stuff in 07.

The Good, The Bad & The Queen
Build An Ark - Dawn
John Doe - A Year in the Wilderness
Loudon Wainwright III - Strange Weirdos
Orquestra Imperial - Carnaval So Ano Que Vem
Glenn Mercer - Wheels in Motion

Pretty great year.

Big +1's for Tim Armstrong, Son Volt & Jim Ford although I probably wouldn't consider it 2007 since it's really just a reissue of Harlan County with a bunch of extras.

Swapped out that Armstrong for the Dino Jr. album. But it was a tough choice.
And I pondered whether or not to include the Jim Ford record for that very reason, but in the end I just couldn't leave it out.

Yet another tip of the cap to you for this from that year. Great album.

Indeed pretty solid year.

Here are some that stuck out for me:

The White Stripes - Icky Thump
The Black Lips - Good Bad, Not Evil
Les Savy Fav - Let's Stay Friends
Jim White - Transnormal Skiperoo
Alberta Cross - The Thief & The Heartbreaker
The Avett Brothers - Emotionalism

Icky Thump has slowly become my favorite Stripes album.

I originally had that Les Savy Fav album over Magnolia Electric Co. Both are really good.
