So we're up for this thing called the Galaxie Rising Star Award. It involves some decent money and a prime spot at this year's Harvest Jazz & Blues Fest here.

Hmm. Are you referring to what you hear on "Harbour" or the "Gold Standards" EP? It's two different approaches. I mixed the EP, but someone else mixed the album.

Oh, ok. I did that one. The vocals were recorded this way:

voice > SM 57 > shitty old Peavey Backstage amp > Audio Technica 2020 mic

So, I double-tracked the vocals that way, singing through the guitar amp and micing the amp with the 2020.

On the mix end, I think I just used a Blockfish compressor and one of the stock reverbs in CuBase.
