The meat (pork shoulder + country ribs) for the Labor Day Feast is on the smoker. I will not take the meat off too soon. I will not take the meat off too soon. I will not take the meat off too soon. I will not take the meat off too soon. I will not take the meat off too soon.

Not wanting to be coerced into giving D-Howard free post lessons, the Big Man insisted he was merely "Roger Murdock, co-pilot".

Went to my kid's school for curriculum night last night.
Freaked me out that my son's math teacher is the little pisher that grew up in the house on the lot behind us.
He was 10 years old when we moved in to the house yesterday... I mean 13 years ago.
Damn.

Real nice kid, though. And he seems like he's going to be an excellent teacher.

Ah, Tim Dolan. Brother of a shock-jock, & future American Pope. If not for real on that second, then at least unofficially, in a "the Protestant Fundamentalists with whom the Catholic dogmatists are increasingly cozy setting up a new Babylonian captivity/Avignon Popes arrangement" way.

Or, to use a more current example, the American Episcopalians who align with hardline Anglican Archbishops in Africa when the local diocese allow gay marriage.

I'm in Korea now, and so tired of this song. It plays all the time here, just walking around you hear it coming out of random shops or whatever. The guy is now also on lots of commercials on Korean tv, hard to get away from it.

I've been forced through peer pressure into quitting alcohol. Therefore I've just become a lot better at holding my liquor, lying and ordering 32 ounce beverages from the mexican place and speedwalking (olympic style) to the liquor store a block further to grab a bottle of alcohol to pour into the large oversized beverage. Although lately I've gotten gutsy and just straight hide beers in my stomach.

I really fucking love horchatas.

Went to a crazy birthday party yesterday for a kid from my daughter's school: Pony rides in the front yard, petting zoo (with llamas!) in the garage, plenty of booze and barbecue for the parents. The guy produces "redneck rap" and I guess is doing pretty well for himself. I'm sure his neighbors in his McMansion neighborhood think he is a coke dealer because he looks like...a bum. Really nice fucking guy though.

Trying to figure out who you were with over text was pretty funny because I was pretty convinced it was the other guy. I don't know this guy, but know J well enough - he's a friend's younger brother. I remember him as this skinny ass little kid who would talk more shit than anyone you know. He done came up, though.
