I've been enjoying reading these, team by team.

I love the follow-up DEADletters. No one seems to get that Magary (who LooGAR lurves, by the way) is taking the piss & going after each team's weak spots. Including his beloved Vikings.

I was entertained that he hates the Falcons mostly because of the 1998 NFC Championship Game.

As excited as I am that the season starts tonight, I also feel a lot like a death row inmate facing a 7:30 (Central Time) execution with little to no chance of a last-minute call from the governor.

I'm hoping for the best, but fearing and fully expecting the worst. JPP may spend more time in the Cowboys' backfield tonight than Romo and Murray combined.

*shudder*

I love it when my fears prove unfounded.

Such a great win.

I'm sure folks are happy in Dallas today but not near as happy as they are in Cleveland right about now:

Despite last night's win, a similar scenario is likely to play out here whenever Jerry finally kicks the bucket.

Look who's talking. I don't know any better and now that I've started reading Magary I've noticed that you either crib things wholesale from him, or actually ARE him. The latter would not surprise me, really...ANDREW.

Hah!

I cannot be Drew Magary, though, since I have been in the same room as him. & it wasn't a Fight Club, either. (The story: saw him read from his debut novel sci-fi The Post-Mortal at Boswell Books in Milwaukee.)

Anyway, I think I am more David Berkowitz filtered thru Darrin Frew with a touch of Magary.

Cleveland retained its team name, history, and they got a new stadium out of the deal. And, Cleveland knew it was coming. Its apples and oranges. If the NFL and owners really cared about feelings they would've given Baltimore an expansion team.

Did you see on Deadspin how Modell manoeuvred to ensure Baltimore got bypassed in the '93 round of expansion (teams to start playing in '95) so he had the still football-mad B'more as a failsafe in the event Cleveland didn't give him everything?

So, some hero he was to the Inner Harbourites. In fact, he almost did your people as bad as he did Cleveland's.

Nope, but I'd love to read an article about it.

So, I've got AP and Gerhardt on my fantasy team. Who you start?
