Both of these guys are Grade A knuckleheads, but I like the message they are delivering here (though there are a couple of cringeworthy moments in this video)...

Couldn't resist this new toy. NOS Harman Kardon HK1000 cassette deck. NOS, perfect condition. Need to shake off 40 years of dust and clean it up a bit, but playing a tape on it right now and not sounding bad at all. Tested all functions and everything works. Just need to spend some time cleaning various parts and it may just not need anything else.

Came in original box and packing materials with original manual and RCA cords.

Sweet! Can you use metal tapes on it?

I was in a new-to-me CD shop this evening, and he's got all sorts of used equipment set up for sale. I didn't really examine it all closely, I was too enthralled with the milk crates of $1 CDs he had on the floor. Man, I was in heaven there for a while, just like the old days. 'Cept my knees and back hurt more this time. :(

Actually, this thing is so old it does not have a metal tape setting as they weren't making them yet. It has three tape settings, Standard, Low Noise, and Cro2. So, I guess shitty type I and decent type I, then type II. To record you have to manually calibrate the dolby level with a test tone every time. Only says dobly, which I feel safe in assuming is dolby B. I think this was one of the first if not the very first home deck with Dolby. Thing is built like a goddamn tank too and weighs a ton.

Still haven't been able to justify the prices I've seen on R2R decks, so this is as retro as I get for a while anyway. Looks good next to my even older turntable too.

I find it funny that drinkify can tell you what to drink while you listen to straight edge music.

Hulk Hogan sues over sex tape

Most ironically funny thing about this whole situation is Hulk Hogan's lawyer's name.

I think it's pretty clear the joke is intentional on her part.
