The Thing is one of my favorite movies, and if I was going to get one, it'd be of the poster. Here's one that is pretty bland/horrible:

I'd definitely have a lot more shading done and keep it black/grey/shades of blue.

I have to admit the first time I saw that I seriously did not notice Godzilla at all and had to scroll back up and look.

Conversely... maybe I should have thought my costume through a bit more before I decided to dress up like a sailor for a Halloween party at a gay bar this evening. I feel like I need to bring along a construction worker and an Indian. Pretty sure there will already be plenty of leathermen.

Efterklang and an orchestra (with Budgie on drums) were pomping it up big time
at The Barbican last night. I managed to blag a couple of after-show party passes
for my mate & me too and had a nice chat with John Grant who was the support act.
I managed to palm off a copy of my filthy new Jazz Mag Numb mix on him
(which he heartily approved of bless him) and he also said he'd be up for doing
a session for the show sometime, which would be great if it does actually happen.
