Been so long since I did that. Super fun. Though, around here in the woods--you need to have some idea of where you're going.

Btw--got the cds. Thanks

Anybody else watch Louis CK host SNL?

It definitely wasn't great, but there were a few great moments.

The opening monologue was awesome: http://www.hulu.com/watch/421099#i1,p0,d0

And a couple of other sketches were really good - "Last Call" & "Lincoln".

yeah, I watched it. That Zord skit was fucking awful, and during his interview on Fallon earlier in the week, Louis alluded that it was terrible. SNL still can't grasp that the majority of their skits just either aren't funny and drag on to long, or that they don't have a shove reoccurring characters down your throat. Musical guest, Fun., sucked.

Case in point: I like Bill Hader but his recurring "Stefon" character on Weekend Update is horrendously unfunny and it makes me like him less every time he does it.

Also, that show should've gone to 60 minutes years ago. 90 is just too much time to fill on a weekly basis even with the massive commercial blocks.

That "Lincoln" bit was the funniest thing that's been on SNL in well over a decade.

fun. did suck. I had never heard them before, but that was the most punchworthy lead singer I've seen in a long time.

The Zord skit was kind of charming in its terrible-ness, I thought. Everything about it was so bad, that it was like they just set up a horrible skit for Louis CK to intentionally botch. I dunno. I thought the Fox News thing and all the characters on Weekend Update were worse than this.

Agree on both points.

I laughed at the thought that Fun. was an Obner fave more than I did at the rest of the skits.

Lincoln was good because it was intelligent. Another SNL fault is that they dumb down to appease a mass audience that isn't watching anyway.
I'm also a big fan of Louis on FX, so dug that they were referencing it.

Watched one of the Fun songs via Hulu, and man that was not a good performance. So... earnest. So creepily earnest.

My pug totally does that. I feel like he's so much more normal now than I thought.
