that's pretty real sounding for a yamaha s90.

that's what we used in brazil and it still always seemed to have just a soupcon of digital sheen, no matter what preset we had it on.

The cp 70 is like a Rhodes but with actual strings. The zeppelin piano

i get those confused all the frickin time. and you even called me about that one.

but still, i was never able to get a natural sound out of that either. sounded almost too klavier-esque or something.

Even the nord and upper end korgs don't sound right. Nothing beats actual strings or tines. Vintage electromechanical keyboards or actual pianos are the ONLY way to fly.

That yamaha, i plugged it in, got a level and played. I put that whole track together in an hour. Seriously, no eq, one take, no edits. The vocals I did on a sennheiser hand held, no pop screen, didn't even bother with a mic stand. It was just about getting ideas down, but I was pretty happy with the yamaha. I'm going to mess around with taking a stereo signal next time.

that's cool. i definitely need to carve out more time to do that kind of shit. and carve out money for a decent vocal mic. i did all the autobody stuff holding an SM57. very hard not to make me sound nasally.
