I picked up numbers 1 and 2 at Five Points Bottle Shop. The Traquair House Ale was very tasty, but didn't go down as one of the best beers I've ever had. I guess I'll try it again.

I have a bottle of the Bruery Saison Rue in my refrigerator, just waiting for the right occasion.

I've only had 3-4 from the list but I do like that the list is different than so many others and not totally dominated by IPA's and Big Stouts.

Right on. I've posted here many times at how I wish craft brewer's obsession with hops and astronomical IBU's would go away. My palate likes balance, but let's be honest, a shit load of malts.

I had you and billyg in mind when i posted it, Stu. aka The Anti-Hops Faction.

And SPEAKING of hops, Smuttynose's DIPA Big A is back and holy fuck is it good. One of my faves in that genre.

Walked into the grocery store at 9am saturday to get dogfood and coffee, and thought "well maybe I'll just go LOOK in case they just stocked..." Scored a 4 pack each of Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin and Founders Breakfast Stout. Patted myself on the back for not being one of those guys and buying ALL of them.

I wouldn't really consider myself part of an Anti-Hop Faction. I just like less than half of the 100+ IBU palate wrecker west coast style DIPAs that people typically love and some of them I dislike. I guess I could still see how you'd say that though because unlike with most craft beer geeks, IPAs aren't my favorite style. I'd say though that about 1/4 to 1/3 of the beers typically in my refrigerator are IPAs/DIPAs.

I saw that list early last week when the Bruery posted it to their facebook page. I only took a cursory glance at and kind of dismissed it because I didn't see any beers that I love on it, and the two beers that I know that I've had (the Stone and the Deschutes Pale Ale) I didn't like much. I have two others in my refrigerator (the Tank 7 and the La Roja) so hopefully I'll like those more.

Over the weekend I had a Lost Abbey/New Belgium collaboration -- the Mo Betta Bretta. It was a good not great Belgian Wild Ale. Also drank my last bottle of Russian River Damnation which was much better.

that polestar pilsner does not belong anywhere near a top 25 list.

i picked up Goose Island's Christmas Ale, which was very tasty. i also tried their IPA, which just won Gold at GABF, and all i can say is WTF? it was fine, but Gold medal worthy? nope.

In my experience, Total Wine will totally put your name down and let you reserve stuff so if you've got one in your area on the list, get on it!

That one was a head scratcher.
It is an interesting list of beers. I'll give them props for appreciating a broad range of styles and recognizing a few classically great beers, but they have a couple mehtastic choices on there.

#16 and #2 both intrigue me to no end.

Ahhh the place in Belmont. Awesome craft beer only shop run by a lesbian couple. Wonder if they do reservations...? There will be a feeding frenzy. Also, at first I was all "psshhh Westy, I already HAVE some of that" but then I saw it was the 12, not the 8.

Hop City B'ham is getting it and not Hop City ATL?

Pshaw!

Although I did just get their weekly email blast today and it appears Goose Island has finally reached these parts. (select offerings)

Speaking of Goose Island, gave their Madame Rose a try this past weekend--severely disappointed. Not much of that vinegar kick and fairly one note.

Word on the street was that Atlanta Total Wine already started selling them last week, well ahead of the official 12/12 release date. Good way to get blacklisted if this ever happens again.

I'm going to a tapping party tonight for two Green Flash Anniversary beers.

Green Flash 1st Anniversary – American Strong Ale
The original Brewmaster at Green Flash, John Stewart, created this brew in 2003 to celebrate one year of brewing in Vista, CA. The recipe starts with pale malt, medium crystal, aromatic malt, and highly kilned roasted malt. Additions of specialty brown sugar and high-grade maple sugar contribute a kiss of sweetness. Medium hopping from both
the US and EU give balance to the almost chewy richness of this decadent, malty ale. John has been asked to come back as a guest brewer for a re-brew of this commemorative ale to help celebrate 10 years of Anniversary Ales at Green Flash Brewing Co. 8.9% ABV, 45 IBU

Green Flash 9th Anniversary – Green Bullet
Looking for new and unique hops for our 9th Anniversary brew I turned my focus toward New Zealand hops where I discovered a variety called Green Bullet. I think this hop must have be developed just for Green Flash Brewing as I found it to be brightly floral, piney, pungent, and spicy. This discovery set the stage for a new Anniversary beer that would end up being a triple IPA, Green Bullet. While I was searching for new hop varieties I also discovered a wonderfully fruity hop variety called Pacific Gem. I decided right away that I would bring these two hops together to add finesse to a monstrous beer. The end result of brewing triple IPA with these two hops is a full body, soft pine and citrus hoppiness upfront with tropical notes of mango and pineapple, and a moderate aggressive bitter finish. It‘s extremely well rounded and nicely balanced for a beer of this strength with the alcohol being well hidden for a more pleasurable drinking and celebrating experience. 10.1% ABV, over 100 IBU

I grabbed a bottle of this yesterday. I hope it's really good because I didn't know it was $23 until after I got home and checked the receipt.

I bought a lot of stuff.

The Kennesaw store is near my office and where I buy a lot of my beer...I was in there yesterday and overheard the main beer guy explaining their justification for selling it early (basically, they got it in and thought it was ok, didn't realize it was a coordinated rollout nationwide). At any rate, I guess I could have walked in there any day the previous week and bought it had I known. Oh well. *shrug*

Sheeee-it.

I might've bitten. I shouldn't have, but I might've.

I had a really weird dream last night that you delivered me 2 Jeraboam sized bottles of Founders Breakfast Stout in a UPS truck on Christmas morning Kyle.
