That reminds me, I seriously need to get motivated on some shelving for my records. I've got more records than places to put them and I need to build or buy something before I start letting them get ruined just lying around.

Also, as to stereo gear, just got a Denon DL-103 and on Wednesday the Step Up Transformer should arrive. Looking forward to checking this out. Will be curious if this is my long term solution to them discontinuing the 160, which I thought was going to be my permanent cartridge of choice. Also, have gone back to a Bellari phono pre instead of a Parasound I have. I'm not certain one is really better than the other, but the Parasound's higher gain is helpful but the usb output on the Bellari is nice and just the glowing tube up top makes it fun. Been going with the BEllari and once I have the other cart with the Step Up, the lower gain shouldn't be an issue anymore.

And I guess it probably is a little weird that since most of all my gear was scrounged used, the cartridge/transformer/phono stage bit of my stereo cost more than the rest of everything pout together by a fair margin.

Also changed out my speakers and amp over the last year, going with

Technics SL-Q/Denon (soon to be 103/DL-160 (soon to be DL-103/AU-300LC Step Up transformer)/Bellari Phono Pre
Adcom GTp-450
Hafler XL-280
Ohm Walsh 2s

Nothing fancy but I really like it. I actually had the Ohms years ago and had handed them off to my little brother who now just basically listens to everything through his computer and didn't want them anymore and I welcomed them home gratefully. For whatever reason they just sound more right to me than other stuff.

It really is a good thing I don't have more money as I would likely just buy a ridiculous amount of stereo gear with it all.

thought I'd bump this because I'm in the market for a new system (which I posted about in this thread), but really more because I'm curious if anyone has changed, upgraded, or downsized their systems.

Also curious what kind of wiring I should invest in for my new system? I've never used anything except the standard 16 gauge copper speaker wire. I found this tutorial at Crutchfield. It looks like I'll want to use a pair with banana plugs as I've always hated dealing with the bare wires.
