Very little new music listened to in 2012, for whatever reason. There are things I'd still like to hear, but of what I have heard, these are the ones worth mentioning:

did you check out the new Ben Sollee? he's gone a bit pop-tastic on it and it's easily my least favorite of his, but there's at least a couple good tunes in there.

I wasn't aware of a new one from Sollee, so thanks for that heads up. Amazon had the d/l for 5 bucks, so I have it now. I thinkI'm only 8 new things behind now.

I was made aware of this through Dave Olney, who contributes a song and lead vocal to this Vol. 2. Most of the names associated with the project are unfamiliar to me, including the guy who started it a couple years ago. Original songs of the Civil War by a gaggle of artists.

The only name I recognized on Vol. 1 was Marty Stuart. In addition to Olney, Verlon Thompson contributed to Vol 2., which is focused on the involvement of Irish immigrants on both sides of the war. I'm a sucker for historical stuff like this, and the bonus here is that the music is pretty fine, as well. I can up both if you're interested.

Very much so! Mediafire works best for me, if possible. Thanks in advance.

I've had "Guess Who's Knockin" from that Bingham album in my head since I heard it on XM the other day. Great shit.

The opening cut, Beg For Broken Legs, is FEROCIOUS. That boy got plumb angry between the last release and this one. And it suits him fine.
