I feel bad, that I cannot give my wife, 100% happiness from myself on Mother's day, due to the mourning I go thru each time this holiday passes. I lost my mom a little over 10 years ago to cancer.

Heartbreaking stuff.

Had dinner with my folks last night and they told me a family friend has ovarian cancer. She hasn't been to the doctor in years and my mom said they've slowly noticed changes in her the last 2-3 years. She's most likely had it that long. It's pretty much spread everywhere at this point and there isn't much they can do.

Lesson: get yourself checked out yearly kids. Post-50 I'd say twice a year.

Lots of new music still to come......

Got the stomach punch call this week that my mom now has Stage 4 terminal breast cancer that's spread to her liver. Her last cancer screening came back clean in June...apparently this thing spread fast. Combined with her MS she might have as little as 4 weeks....hopefully longer. I now have to plan and prepare for a final trip to see her with the grandkids.

Fuck, Matt. Sorry to hear about this. Nothing more can really be said.

Echoing thoughts and prayers. Stomach punch, indeed.

Aw fuck. Sorry man. That is terrible. Got a similar call last March about my uncle but his brain tumor has been responding well to drugs that shrink it, and now he's in chemo. Didn't think he would make it this far, so it's been nice.

That's going to be a rough trip, and I hate it for you.

Sorry to hear DHR. All the love to you and your family and friends.

I had learned my closest of friends has a singular incurable esophageal cancer now in his stomach and liver since just before Thanksgiving. Treatment has been aggressive and he is still living as normal a life day to day with less weight, energy and hair. Most everyone close in his life came in town for the holidays. It is real and surreal. He is an Uncle to my children [my daughter's "2nd favorite Dad"] and a hero in my life, a real brother going through life's stuff, good and bad. I sure love every minute I can be with him as always before but knowing it is limited is unbelievable but there.

Make as many good memories as you can with the time you have left. I'm sorry anyone has to go through that.
