Bless your cracker heart, but this is prime redstate-bluestate conflict: and we know that the growing Latino demographic (Tony Gonzalez notwithstanding) will win this one too for the Hippie Gipper. Besides, Falcons are really boring...

Ah, it was a lovely Sunday in the bay area: cool and sunny. Great crops of arugula and Sauvignon Blanc this year, not to mention the NorCal danky nugs. Go Niners, destroy the Falcons.

I think the Falcons win. 49er's D isn't as stout as earlier this year and I would hope that the coaching staff of ATL isn't as incompetent as Dom Capers.
Also I think the Patriots should handicap themselves next weekend by getting drunk or ingesting a bunch of drugs so that it's actually an interesting game.

Sadly, I think the Niners will beat the Falcons and then beat the Pats to win the Bowl. F'ing Harbag.

I agree, but there doesn't need to be the qualifier sadly.

I guess since there isn't a big Pats fan on the board *anymore* I'll be wallowing in the AFC Championship game alone here. All you NFC folks, sheesh

Seriously though, this is the game the Ravens have been craving. The win during regular season wasn't quite as good as it could've been--so we're fiending to beat the Pats in the championship in Foxboro.

While agreeing to the premise, I'd suggest that there is a continuum of egomaniacal sleaze-ball-ness, and Carroll is at optimal placement on the sleaze axis. I can remember a puff-piece of cheatey petey visiting Nickleson Gardens projects in LA at midnight to show what a well meaning white guy he was... total buffoonery. I would have loved to see Harbaugh beat him again... "what's the deal" indeed.

On a side note, this Pats/Texans game is really boring.

Puff-Piece??? Pete hasn't been coach at USC for 4 years now but he still helps run "A Better LA" and donates his time and money to help disadvantaged youth there and here. There are a ton of USC Alumni that have become Seahawk fans because of Pete (despite the sanctions that everybody wants to pin on him) and the fact that he's a really good guy. You might see that if you could see beyond your silly school rivalry BS.

Also, had we not come back, the name Zach Miller would've gone alongside names like Jim Leyritz, Eric Gregg, and Eugene Robinson that make Atlanta fans wince every time they hear their name. We had no answer for him. It's like we didn't even try to cover him.

Miller did all of that with a Torn Platar Fascia as well - they announced that after the game - I imagine they gave him a cortisone shot or something in the locker room. Obviously I'm glad he came back in.

You're assuming everything stays the same or improves. If Bradley and/or Bevell leave, it'll make it much more interesting.

I agree with the former part of your statement, but not so much the latter part - seasons are impossible to predict from one to another because you can't predict health, free agency or the draft. As for Bradley and Bevell - Pete basically is the Defensive Coordinator - perhaps not in name, but most of that falls on him. I don't want Bradley to leave, but I don't think it is as big of a deal as most people who watch the team from afar.

As for Bevell - I could honestly take him or leave him - He seems to be able to come up with great schemes to really exploit defenses, but situationally, sometimes he leaves me smacking my head. When you have a back like Marshawn Lynch and you need a yard or two, you run it up the middle, right?? This year, there are many times when we've gone 5 wide and picked up the first down on a slant. Other times when we got too cutesy and tried to run pitch-outs to Marshawn that didn't work. I just think he outhinks himself sometimes.

All in all, while we had a great year, I would be really surprised to see either land a Head Coaches job. (Then again, Cleveland hired......who in the hell is that guy again?? lol)

I know he missed practice last week but Lynch HAD to be hurt, right? He had nothing. Zero.

I think SF is imminently beatable because I saw New England go up and down the field and then Seattle beat the living dogshit out of them. If the Falcons let Kaepernick run around with no pressure like they did Wilson, it's over by halftime.

Way to go Manning, you blew it and wasted that epic performance by Trindon Holiday.
It was a hell of game, even if the Broncos choked it.

When a QB has a game like that (especially how it ended for him), he must thank The Lord that his father gave him the surname Manning and not Romo.

i actually enjoy watching the seahawks IN SPITE of carroll

sure, he's a big reason they've been successful, but i still can't stand the guy AT ALL

The team I least want to win the Super Bowl among those remaining is New England, so I am now officially on record predicting a Patriots victory in New Orleans.

Just realized that 3 of the 4 teams remaining were in these games last year. Meh-rrific.

Guess who the new kid is?

How many people will blame Crabtree when the 49er's lose?

I think it's pretty insignificant in the grand scheme.

Likely, but Crabs is pretty much the only receiver on that team that Kaps consistently throws at.
Although the fact that ATL's defense has gotten raped against every "athletic" quarterback this season does not bode well for them.

The horror.

Two plays defined the game. Ryan's botched snap and the most ridiculous "blow to the head" call I've ever seen. Changed the game.

Fortunately I'm an Atl fan and am trained to deal with things like this.

Jim Harbaugh, head coach, skipping out on the post-game interview. He's a good coach but the epitome of douchebag.
