Still amusing.

Here's a mix I put together a short while back, which is intended to serve as a companion to the "official" Guided by Voices "best of" compilation (Human Amusement at Hourly Rates). I called this one A Queen's Prize Awaits (click on any of the titles to hear that particular song):

1. Of Mites and Men
2. Mute Superstar
3. Pivotal Film
4. Closer You Are
5. The Closets of Henry
6. An Unmarketed Product
7. Eureka Signs
8. Drag Days
9. Useless Inventions
10. If We Wait
11. Little Lines
12. Skills Like This
13. As We Go Up, We Go Down
14. Girls of Wild Strawberries
15. Avalanche Aminos
16. Christian Animation Torch Carriers
17. Ghosts of a Different Dream
18. She Goes off at Night
19. Crutch Came Slinking
20. Not Behind the Fighter Jet
21. Fair Touching
22. Evil Speakers
23. Everybody Thinks I'm a Raincloud (When I'm Not Looking)
24. Mushroom Art
25. Wire Greyhounds
26. Rhine Jive Click
27. The Main Street Wizards
28. Do The Collapse
29. Bomb in the Bee-Hive
30. Gold Star for Robot Boy
31. Unspirited
32. A Good Flying Bird
33. Gonna Never Have to Die
34. Strumpet Eye
35. Love 1
36. Atom Eyes

good call FT, I wasn't intending my mix to be anything other than some of my favourite tunes
as it is so hard to do a proper retrospective, but your selection is great, thanks! I had to pull
A Salty Salute from the download incidentally as there is some blockage about sharing it online.

it's hard to do a proper retrospective, but it's hard to argue with the one that Bob himself curated. I love every song on that single disk best-of.

After listening to the entire mix again the other day, I think this particular track might be one of the most underappreciated songs in the entire GBV canon.

Kevin Junior (of The Chamber Strings) just had open heart surgery the other day.
Looks like the surgery went well, but if you could throw a couple of thoughts/prayers his way for a speedy recovery. I know that his music means a lot to several of you (me, included).

WTF...probably the most surreal 5 minutes of video I've ever seen - and I wouldn't believe a word of this, if there weren't actual news stories to go along with it:

Here's a link to the actual TV news story that the video is excerpted from:

Get well soon, KJ!

I can't help but feel partly responsible, nearly a decade after the fact.

Only finished a small portion of my dinner. Have leftovers for lunch and will probably have more for lunch tomorrow!
Awesome stuff.

WOW. That would've been really cool if I had something other than HughesNet.

My unfortunate take.
