10 Movies Roger Ebert Really Hated
http://mentalfloss.com/article/49913/10 ... ally-hated

I've only seen Jason X and The Usual Suspects from this list. I can agree on Jason X, being a fan of the franchise, and knowing that they're all pretty bad, Jason X was so bad that wasn't funny.

The Usual Suspects... I mean, really? 1.5 stars? And it ended up being a modern pop-culture classic.

Heard the news in the car on the way home today. Fucking sucks.
I was at a critic's screening of a movie a while back and when Roger walked in, it was smiles and laughter all around; like now the party could begin.
Seemed like everybody there knew him and loved him, and he knew everyone there, too.
Rest in peace, Rog.

I caught it recently on HBO or whatever and it really doesn't hold up well. Think he was on to something. Sad to hear he passed.

Jason X is not the worst. That dishonor would go to Part 8, Jason Takes Manhattan.

but anyways, RIP Roger.

Was that from the actual movie?
Music too?

I echo: Wow.

not the music. Everything else is exactly as that scene goes.

I've probably seen that particular Fri13 like ten times, since it's one of the most hilarious horror movies ever made. I feel like most of that movie takes place on a cruise ship, though.

He's mostly right about The Usual Suspects. Its ending clearly explains that nothing makes any sense, nothing really happened, and that there wasn't really any reason for Verbal to be interrogated in the first place. I'd argue that that doesn't make it a bad film though, because all the nonsense is so much fun. I get in this argument a lot, and find the haters and the fanboys are equally annoying.

Agreed.

On the one hand, it's a good movie the first time you see it; on the other it doesn't hold up well to repeated viewings, time, or deeper analysis. But that first time, it was pretty damn good.
