Giving this a first listen now and it's pretty cool. Sounds a lot like The Smiths -- even his voice sounds a little like Moz at times. Definitely rings of the mid/late-80s, but in a very good way. Marr's guitar playing really demands close listening, because it's so damn prolific, without being obviously showy.
Probably not my favorite of the year (that is still the Shugo Tokumaru album), but it is another winner for 2013.
Who else is listening to it?

I picked it up a few weeks ago as an impulse buy while at the record store. I listened to it a few times but it didn't make much of an impression.

I pulled it out over the weekend after you posted this and there's still not much there for me. His place in rock history is solidified at this point and he still knows his way around the guitar and a hook but most of this just sounds like 2nd rate brit rock/pop to me. Like some of Blur's weaker efforts. Sits firmly in the "Adult Alternative" category.

Couple of keepers though.
