Jack White is taking his Record Store Day ambassadorship seriously. Not only did he make a hilarious video earlier this year explaining the concept and how vinyl records are made -- now he's taking it a step further. When the day rolls around on April 20 -- this Saturday -- his Third Man Records store in Nashville will have what he says is the only operating vinyl 45 maker in the world open to the public.

The restored 1947 booth is low-tech and is the way many musicians and wanna-be musicians first heard their voices on wax. White's store was going to be a madhouse as it was; fans are likely to flock there from many miles away to get a chance to relive the old-time technology -- and take home an actual vinyl recording they made.

That's kinda cool. I'm pretty sure I'm skipping RSD this year though.

Yeah, I liked it more as a day to go hang at local stores and catch some sales or bands. Not so into the limited edition hype.
