Still say it's going to be Memphis-Miami in the Finals.

I vote, win or lose for the Grizz, we give Cuba back to Spain, via Marc Gasol. Let those maniacs on Calle Ocho & commies on the Malecon try to refight the War of Bourbon Succession.

I dunno, Curry has bad ankles; I hope he can hold up. Meanwhile, CP3 has averaged 18 and 10 but doesn't have a whole lot of playoff success to show for it.

Serious question: if for whatever reason, the Hawks were able to sign Chris Paul and Dwight Howard, pairing them with Horford (who is basically the only player under contract for next year) and a gang of role players, would that team be a viable contender if they also hired say, Stan Van Gundy to be the coach?

Its not that I really want Dwight, just something to think about...

It's a formula for a potential 2-3 seed in the East and could contend if...
- Howard can get back to pre-lockout form and stay there through the mid-teens. IMHO that's a big if.
- This is a 3-4 year plan. Lebron, Dwayne, and Bosh are still with Miami next year.
- Paul and Howard are willing to take pay cuts. If we estimate their combined salaries next year at $35m and a salary cap of $60m, that leaves Atlanta with less than $7m of cap space (Apparently, the Hawks have ~$18.5m of commitments, who else besides Horford @ $12m?) for half-or-more of their roster in '13-14. I know role players can come cheap, but...

Out of anybody, I think Utah would have the best chance of pulling something like this off given they have almost $17m more in cap space.

Man, the Spurs really shit the bed yesterday. I miss the days when their opponents were the ones shitting the bed.

My understanding is that Horford, Lou Williams ($5 million) and John Jenkins (1.2M) are the only guys signed which squares with your ~18.5M number.

I think Game 5 is Game 7 tonight. If the Spurs win, the Warriors would have to win Game 7 in San Antonio and I don't think they're ready for that. If the Warriors win, they'll close it out in 6.

I tend to agree. Spurs have not done well in Game 5s of late, though.

What the Spurs do NOT need is to be the team that slogs through a grueling 7 game series while Memphis is home resting after winning in 5.

The dirty secret of this series is that Kawhi Leonard is the best player on either team.

Forget it guys, it's the NBA.

The Heat won this the second James Harden went to the Rockets.

I just don't see the Warriors winning a Game 7 in a city they've won 2 games in since Blur S/T was released.

No one thought the A's would sweep the Rangers and win the division last year either. But I digress....

Much, MUCH respect for the Warriors. A very likable team, with lots of great young talent and a really good coach.

That being said, I am quite pleased with the outcome.

Bring on TEH GRIZZ.

Congratulations to the San Antonio Spurs, the better team. I'll be pulling for you the rest of the way.

Yeah, because the Thunder showed up so great with Harden last year; the Heat are better now.

Golden State went exactly as far as they should have. Next year, we shall see.

I can't believe the Heat still fucking lost even though they got every call in the first half.

I know it's the nice thing to say "good game" and that type of shit, but it shouldn't have been a game to begin with. The Pacers won that game by at least 30 and it was only close on the scoreboard.

Disgusting display by the referees.
