It's a formula for a potential 2-3 seed in the East and could contend if...
- Howard can get back to pre-lockout form and stay there through the mid-teens. IMHO that's a big if.
- This is a 3-4 year plan. Lebron, Dwayne, and Bosh are still with Miami next year.
- Paul and Howard are willing to take pay cuts. If we estimate their combined salaries next year at $35m and a salary cap of $60m, that leaves Atlanta with less than $7m of cap space (Apparently, the Hawks have ~$18.5m of commitments, who else besides Horford @ $12m?) for half-or-more of their roster in '13-14. I know role players can come cheap, but...

Out of anybody, I think Utah would have the best chance of pulling something like this off given they have almost $17m more in cap space.
