Then again, he's never been in a position to beat my team in the playoffs (because the Hawks have never sniffed the Finals).

Right. I still hate Bill Russell too in the name of Elgin Baylor.

Have always really hated San Antonio... and have also really hated the Heat. Very odd last night, watched the game with no real anticipation of feeling anything for either team; but by halftime I was totally rooting for San Antonio, and actually hoping Duncan (the player that has annoyed my most of any NBA alltime all star... big bambi eyes blink-blinking, whining about calls) would go out as series MVP. Mysterious: I really want to see the Heat lose in 4 or 5.

I just might love this more than the actual series result.

Yeah, but he also remembered basketball was a sport about three weeks ago.

That whole game was amazing. Basketball at it's best.

Man, that was one enormous cornholing last night. If the Spurs don't pull their heads out, this will be over in 5.

Right? That block was the best player of his generation at the height of his ability. I can't believe we're already at the "bob panic" stage.

This series may well confirm that he is in fact not the best player of hid generation. He may be the Alan Iverson (power forward version) of his generation.

He's already achieved more than Iverson so that's not really an apt comparison even if he retired after this series. And plus, LeBron will definitely win a couple of titles with the Lakers once he starts playing there in 2014.

if you recognize that defense matters, then it's not even an argument.

Despite being a basketball fan for 40+ years, harry's haterdom for all things non-Laker causes him to occasionally spout off bits of doodoo encrusted hyperbole.

Nice 2006 Flashback game by D. Wade last night: speaking of hyperbole, I thought that guy was El Muerto.

Wow. I didn't even know this was last night. Guess I'm not as plugged in as I used to be.

I openly hate the 2-3-2 format and I can't understand the rhyme or reasoning behind Finals scheduling.

It's a relic of all those Celtics-Lakers matchups in the '80s and the cross-country travel those Finals necessitated.

Nope, the El Muerto guy is actually Ginobili.

Well, yeah, the overstatements are merely postulates to amuse and provoke. Of course Lebron is one of the most gifted basketball players in history.... but I do (Laker filters notwithstanding) think there is some inherent flaw that is revealed in his inclination to choke, either disappearing or hogging. He isn't Jordan, and I'd wager in 20 years we'll say he isn't Kobe.

And why does the smartest coach in the league allow Ginobili to be on the floor at all. This is the saddest dismantling of a reputation in sports history, the dude stinks profoundly. I'd bet on the Heat in 7 although I am pulling for Spurs.

Correct, he isn't Kobe, because he's been the best player on a championship team before. And because defense matters!

furthermore, if Tony Parker doesn't ball the fuck out/get 2 lucky breaks in game one, we're looking at a completely unsatisfying bass-akwards 3-1 Miami lead heading into Father's Day. All anyone can talk about is how bad Miami is playing and they really ought to have this thing all wrapped up already.
