Yeah, Hello Nurse has two kids: boy (11) and girl (8). They bring out the best and worst in me, mostly the latter.

Holy hell. That's gotta be ... life altering.

I lurk every once in a while to see any new music suggestions... been listening to The Guards and Small Black and looking forward to diving into the new Cut Copy. Also discovered the intoxicating joys of the Dark n Stormy and cannot think of a more dependable quality beer than an ice cold Yeungling.

i blame the instant availability of everything. There's not really much to discuss about music anymore. You can hear everything for yourself without even getting off you ass. The internet has ruined just about everything by making it all too easy. Now it seems to be eating itself.

Music has lost all its mystique.

Today we live in a time where, on entering a shop, a face scanner profiles your person and sends personalised advertising to an LED display board.

The human sensibilities required to make great art cannot survive in this vile age.

Artists adapt.
There is always a great artist who can make great art. In any age.
They might not be recognized until many years after their death, but they will make great art.
Of course, if we can't recognize it, that's no help to us now.

I drove to Marfa and back over the last two days because I bought a 2 inch tape machine. So yeah, busy making albums and teaching.

And the population there temporarily doubled.

No joke, toze. I don't get it. File under stuff that white hippie artist kids like.

Although the mexican grandma who runs Marfa Burrito makes transcendent breakfast burritos. Don't eat at Mando's. Cheap pints at the lost horse on happy hour ($1 shiner, lone star, and dos equis), where the bartender is frostier than the pint glasses. She's from Mass. and she's an embittered young broad.

I saw some exposé somewhere how Marfa has become an artist's colony of sorts, it looked like a neat place to visit. I remember in the middle of some road leading there an artist put up a fake Prada boutique storefront . . .

It's getting mixed in Dec., and I just wrote a new one that I think ought to be the title track, so I have to get the boys together to track it. Trying to figure out if i can get Ken here to produce it while he's doing that Posies reunion stateside.

So mixed in dec. then mastered, and then digital release will be immediately available, and vinyl in the spring depending on turn around.
