Oh yeah, it's derivative as hell, but it's also damn good.
I don't think these kids are even shaving yet.

Somebody's folks have money. A Gretsch, a hollowbody bass, outfits / hair / sunglasses / attitude / soundtrack right out of 1965... no 14 year olds want (or can afford) these things on their own. It's great, simple stuff and it's done nicely. I just feel like they're an extension of a couple of rich dads' pent up regret at never giving it a go. Or a producer saw an opening and RAN with it.

Slavish apery of the highest order, although they're so young that I can't help believe that they should grow into something far more interesting than a 4th generation Dr. Feelgood.

The energy level jumps a notch when they at least acknowledge that there was music created beyond 1966 (even if that acknowledgement only goes as far as 1977):

Strypes / White Stripes / Strokes name, the highly produced videos, the spot-on throwback sound... yeah this is wierd. Again it's good, they're talented and could certainly turn into something really good. I just can't imagine too many people REALLY digging this except those too young to remember that it's been done already, note for note, suit for suit, haircut for haircut.

Is this what turning into radcliffe feels like?

I don't think the Stones were posting videos on the internet when they were teenagers.
