I think I signed up on CMJ in late 2000. The first thread I really remember was the discussion of albums of the year. Or maybe it was 2001. Definitely no later than that.

Maybe. This board's first 3 years was pretty solid, I think. Plus, at least we are still here in ghost town form, as opposed to the cmj board, which broke it's leg and then was shot like a horse.

I found my bookmark for ol chatzy after Ayah posted that. Last chat was over 2 years ago but I can see on the visitor list that ol Simi stopped in last year to see if anyone was still chatting.

Joined CMJ in early '02 to add my two cents to their Best-of-'01 lists. Moved from Denver to England four months later, and have slept on few of y'all's couches/guest-beds since then. Lot of good memories.

I don't think Simi actually posted on obner. HE was a friend of Bee Ok's or of Delores. For a definitive answer though, you'd need to get Dumpjack to review the archives.

chatzyg was a spectacular way to spend the day. i'm still not sure how i managed to earn a decent living at the time. it was like being in in-school detention every single day. plus there were all those cute boys there.
