I very much love the series, but I found the latest episode so slow that I ended up researching the health benefits of hemp milk.

Thankfully I had the latest Walking Dead & Justified to milk over.

I'm kinda mellow, but to mention Broadchurch in any context to this show is a fookin' disgrace.

Funniest part about Derris complaining about McConaughey's existential bullshit -- the one person I know who can get away with acting like that is Rick Derris.

Thought is was insanely intense and amazing and ended the way it should've. I'm ready to watch the whole thing again.

8 episodes were the perfect length and I'm wondering if this won't start a new trend of short season storytelling.

I've heard there is a season 2 already in the works with a new story, new actors, everything.

I'm honestly a little lukewarm on that because right now, this feels special. Great achievement that can only be hurt by a weaker 2nd season.

I really liked it. A lot of people were upset that more threads weren't resolved, but I thought it was a very satisfying conclusion. Pretty shocked that neither Rust nor Marty died, but that actually ended up being a pretty decent twist.

This quote from Alan Sepinwall's interview at HitFix.com with series creator Nic Pizzolatto really hits home for me:

"To retreat to the supernatural, or to take the easy dramatic route of killing a character in order to achieve an emotional response from the audience, I thought would have been a disservice to the story. What was more interesting to me is that both these men are left in a place of deliverance, a place where even Cohle might be able to acknowledge the possibility of grace in the world."

Yeah I thought the final episode was a B, good but not great, but I'll give the series overall an A and that's even without rewatching the whole thing (I've only done that with a couple of episodes but not the whole series yet). It was far from perfect but achieved on about as high a level as pulp-y TV can.

It was also the first show in a long time that I watched live as opposed to on Demand or HBOGo the next day after the 4th episode.

How is there not a thread for this? I'm only on episode 3, so no spoilers, but I'm addicted. I do get a little annoyed by Chole's constant proselytizing, but I know why it's there. I've also read that it's hypothesized to be a continuation of Robert Chambers - "The King in Yellow", but I'm not about to read that book.

Alexandra was on New Girl a couple of weeks ago too. Playing the hot new neighbor girl. I think she's being typecast.

I finally finished this last night. It was pretty great and creeped me the fuck out when I had to do down the cellar to do my laundry. I certainly thought one of them was going to die.

Next season should be interesting.
