Green Day
Nine Inch Nails

They are among 15 nominees for the Hall of Fame’s class of 2015, along with Lou Reed, Kraftwerk, the Smiths, Sting, War, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, the Marvelettes and the Spinners. The Smiths, the pioneering British band led by the singer Morrissey, has been nominated for the first time, as have the blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan, who died in 1990, and Bill Withers, the singer of 1970s soul hits like “Lean on Me” and “Ain’t No Sunshine.”

This whole concept of a hall of fame is ridiculous.

I'm surprised Stevie Ray Vaughan wasn't inducted the minute he became eligible. I thought he was like their mascot or something.

Green Day's "Dookie" is the main reason I spent the rest of the nineties listening to Phish exclusively.

I think I could almost reverse that.

how the hell is SRV not in already? I can't stand the guy and I find it to be an outrage.

I'm pulling for War, The Spinners, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Bill Withers.

I honestly couldn't care less about any of these, except Morrissey, and only him because he has teh cancer. He deserves a super-melodramatic HOF event.

I'll go to my grave never understanding the love of/fascination with Morrissey so many seem to have. I've always found him to be a total dickhead. Now Johnny Marr, on the other hand, is greatness.

I dunno, I'm far from a Morrissey fanboy, but I heard him and the Smiths at just the right age I guess because I'll always have a soft spot for him and a certain era of his music. I just like it.

Now that they let KISS in, I officially don't care who they let in the HoF--KISS was the only reason to get up in arms. (In my case, it was emphatically believing that they didn't belong).

So I'm good with all those nominees. Sure.

Re: Kiss. Yes. Jesus, they are fucking awful.

I like some Smiths songs as well but Morrissey now is a fucking twat.

KISS just seemed more like successful self-promoters than artists.

They have more in common with Andrew Lloyd Webber than Chuck Berry.
