I like that Nux Vomica album. That Agalloch was a lot better than I thought it'd be and a lot better than their previous album.

Been meaning to check out those Woods of Desolation, Bohren & der Club de Gore, Nothing, and Blut Aus Nord albums.

The Whigs & Nux Vomica were my #1 & 2 since the summer, and nothing came close to changing my decision....#3-10 changed constantly and I'm already re-ordering them in my head...

I gotta stop doing these things, cause now I'm gonna over fret over the order of the list for the next two weeks...lol

I never even listened to that Mastodon.

Need to check out that King Dude release.

We both liked Nothing, DFA79 and Earth.

You should check out All Them Witches and Wovenhand from my list.

i still stand by my assessment that the Afghan Whigs album should've just been another Twilight Singers release. i mean, i like it just fine (like all the TS albums), but it doesn't hold a candle to the classic AW albums.

It's less 'beat' oriented than any AW release, but of course both bands are gonna sound very similar....
While 'do to the beast' tails off a bit over the last 5 songs, i think it on par with anything they have done; albeit maybe more mature...

The big heavy sound, eh? How is Pallbearer not on your list. Saw Solstafir in concert in Iceland a couple years ago, and a couple weeks ago in a small club in SF, definitely appealing, though more Doors than Metallica.

I'm afraid this happened to me too..
Was on my queue since it's release, just never got to it..
Played it once so far, and I could have seen it being top 10, potentially top 5 easily....
one of the many pitfalls of having easy access to so much music....tons get left by the wayside.....:/

I liked it....Came out late in the year...Another record I haven't had the time to live with for a bit either....

in 2015, I am gonna try and spend more time listening to the records I come across and like, than trying to catch up on everything in my queue.....it takes away from why i love listening...the constant 'i have 800 records in my spotify queue' sense of obligation...
