Obviously since I'm posting here, I'm desperate. We are having another year of "Let's not get each other anything" and I know she'll get me something anyway.

I'm getting my lady a new Nikon SLR camera, so I kinda broke the bank. Her current one is nearing 10 years old. I justified it because I just bought myself a new phone because the touch screen on my current one has stopped responding in places. :(

but they always like those little thoughtful/unique gifts. I try to hit this area of town that has local artist/craft stuff/unique boutiques, etc.

I did go the arty hand/craft route. The only thing about that is that I like gifts that look cool and crafted, but are also practical/useful. Sometimes it's hard to find both in one item.

As of now I'm going with a really good book (show that you know her, subject is unexpected but awesome, she learns something but it's not a text book, etc), and a nice dress from Anthropology.

So I didn't visit Obner for basically the entire Holiday run? Bummer.

What did you get her, was it a vacuum?

Actually my mom got us a vacuum. I got her something cute that she wasn't expecting, and something practical.

That being said, she spent Christmas in the ICU due to illness, so it wasn't exactly a special/happy day, no matter what was under the non-existent tree.
