I dig the one song I checked out, Judy Don't Go. Is the effect you're talking about on that track? I didn't hear anything particularly striking other than some good old fashioned amp distortion.

he plays a Strat, but not sure what kind of amp. Is the squeal he gets just from the guitar+amp combo or a pedal?
