Is this eluvium album any good? I mean, I suppose you will think so since it's your top for 05 so far. Does this dude have any other albums or is this his first full length? I saw him play at the Explosions in the Sky show in L.A. where I saw Tania. I dug him a lot. I am unaware of his discography though. And, I don't really want a link to allmusic.com. I want the personal opinion. Thank you.

It's a great album and my no 1 of the year so far too. You'll enjoy it unless you have no patience for ambient. It's his third release - the first (Lambent Material) is a similar ambient album; An Accidental Memory In Case Of Death, the second, is all piano. The first one's good and the second one is just alright.

Talk Amonst Trees is better then both the others. He seems to have got the piano out of his system and just focused on beautiful synth pieces.

its good, and better than his previous two (one of which is more of a one-take piano based semi-album, really. lambent material, his first one, is also good. can't comment on how much you (will) like this stuff tho. but unlike lot of the ambient music out there, its really sort of warm and chumy.

the guy in the background's expression (REDMAN???!!!) is what escalates this into the hall of fame of album covers.

I got the poster of this from the Digable Planets show on Sat... I love this cover.

I hate this album, but I dig the album cover:

Those Okkervil River covers are badass.
