And aren't the shows relatively 'unannounced' and in no way linked to your Ticketmasters (unless ticket was purchased for the Sphongle show and Beck happens to pop in for a set)?

that's because everyone hates the east coast with our uptightness and somewhat less rigid public smoking laws.

let's not forget our driving habits, too. Many of my west coast friends are absolutely appalled at the driving around here.

More insane than LA drivers? I refuse to believe it.

Well, we don't randomly shoot people on the highway. But we are VERY aggressive. They don't call us Massholes for nothing.

Yeah, but they weren't really sold in advance either, leaving tons of people huddled shivering outside the Echo hoping for a glimpse...

I'd rather pay $25 in advance and know I have tix than try and chance it with the $10-$15 tix and hours of waiting in line...

This has to be the least secret secret show in history...

And having driven around LA plenty, I guarantee that we're much more aggressive in Boston. But, there's a logic to it...unlike, say, the mad pick-up drivers of Texas. those idiots...yikes.

To throw in my less than 2 cent opinon on crazy drivers -- gotta say that Chicago beat every other state I've driven in when it comes to roadraging.

Wow. I better remember that if I'm ever out that way because I have some serious road rage myself....

I think Ticketweb's timing out due to demand for this secret show.

I think Chicago is pretty chill. We understand that you don't pay extra for your turn signals.

Although on Tue. night a drunk cut me off twice, so i flashed my brights, then he slammed on the brakes, so i let him get way ahead, but then he was in a left turn lane so a I flicked a cigarette at him, and then he pulled out of the turn lane and followed me, pulled up next to me and threw a wrench at me that hit me in the elbow. Then I followed him, found out where he parked, but he saw me and started to chase my truck on foot, but not before we made eye contact and i screamed "I've got you now, you fucker." Then I went home and the police went over to where he was parked on a meter a few blocks from my house, but he was gone by then, and they couldn't find any information about his license plate on their computer which kept crashing. Then I had to go to rehearsal. But that kind of shit only happens to me once or twice a year.

Christ, Phil!

My roadraging would always occur on the highways of Chicago 'burbia. Some asshole would think I wasn't making a quick enough lane change or throwing my change quick enough into the tollbooth. On each occasion, I'd blow 'em a kiss which would only anger them more.

Yeah, that wrench was unexpected, but it could have been worse.

A dude pulled a knife on me for taking a parking spot on my block in front of my building. Never mind the fact that there were loads of meters that don't collect in after 9 right across the street.

I got hosed on this one. Had 3 windows open, already had a T/Web account, but nothing doing. Their website sucks.

It was so UNsecret that nme.com had an article about the show which included a ticket purchase link.

If anyone got tickets, more power to you.
